Broken capillaries is a problem with the tiny blood vessels that become visible near the surface of the skin and can appear as streaks or blotches. If they are blue then they are commonly known as spider veins because of their tree branch, or spider web-like, shape. The red ones, known as "broken" capillaries, appear close to the skin surface usually in the most sun damaged areas.
"Broken" capillaries or telangectasias are not broken at all. They result from trauma to the skin by devices, acids or excess sun. The body puts them there to help heal the chronic wound by providing more direct circulation. The best way to remove them is to speed the healing of the chronic wound so that extra capillary support is not needed. Osmosis does this well.
